Scholarship Program FAQ


1. What is the Scholarship Program for?


The ASA Nathan Beauchamp Scholarship Program is established to ensure equitable access to youth soccer by providing financial assistance to families demonstrating financial need. The program will be administered in a manner consistent with:

  • ASA’s nonprofit mission
  • IRS 501(c)(3) requirements (charitable purpose, non-discrimination, private benefit limitations)
  • Applicable Texas nonprofit governance standards



2. How do I qualify for a Scholarship?


Applicants must meet all of the following:


Player Eligibility

  • Registered or intending to register with ASA for the current season
  • Age eligible per ASA league guidelines
  • In good standing (no unresolved disciplinary issues, unless waived)


Financial Need Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate financial need through one or more of the following:

  • Qualification for federal/state assistance programs (SNAP, Medicaid, Free/Reduced Lunch, etc.)
  • Temporary financial hardship (job loss, medical issue, etc.)


Residency

  • Must reside within ASA service area or surrounding communities as defined by ASA


Participation Requirement

  • Player must commit to attending practices and games (reasonable exceptions allowed)



3. What is the Application Process?


Complete the application and email completed form and required documentation to asascholarshipapplication@gmail.com prior to the end of regular registration. Scholarship Committee will review each application. Scholarship Awards will be communicated via email within 3 business days of registration closing via email.


4. What is the required documentation?


Applicants must submit:

  • Completed ASA Scholarship Application Form
  • Proof of income (one of the following):
  • Recent tax return (preferred)
  • Pay stubs (last 30–60 days)
  • Assistance program documentation
  • Brief statement of need (optional but encouraged)
  • Player information and registration intent



5. How will I be notified if I will receive a Scholarship?


  • Applicants notified in writing (email)
  • Include:
  • Award amount
  • Conditions of acceptance
  • Any remaining balance owed


6. How will the funds be provided if I am awarded a Scholarship?


  • Funds are credited directly to player registration account
  • No direct cash payments to individuals



7. What do I have to do if I am awarded a Scholarship?


Scholarship recipients must:

  • Complete registration within stated deadlines
  • Participate in practices and games
  • Abide by ASA code of conduct
  • Notify ASA of withdrawal or inability to participate


ASA reserves the right to revoke scholarships for non-compliance.



8. Will my information be shared?


  • Applicant financial data will be kept confidential
  • Access limited to Scholarship Committee and necessary board members
  • Data stored securely



9. How many Scholarships are available?


  • Scholarships are dependent on available funds. They are not guaranteed with application.


10. What if I want to Donate to the Scholarship Fund?


We would love your help in donating to the Scholarship Fund. You can donate by contacting Azleyouthsoccer@gmail.com with your intent to donate and we will coordinate payment. Funds are added to the Scholarship Fund Pool and cannot be directed to specific applicants.
