Code Adam Program & Procedures

Code Adam Program & procedures

To help protect the children of the Azle Soccer Association, our organization has joined thousands of establishments who are committed to reducing the number of children who are reported missing every day using the Code Adam program.

1. Report the Missing Child Immediately

The parent or guardian should notify the closest Team Parent, Coach, Referee, or ASA Board Member as soon as they realize a child is missing.

2. Escort the Parent or Guardian to the Concession Stand

The person receiving the report should immediately direct someone to escort the parent or guardian to the Board Tent or Concession stand.

3. Stop Play on All Fields

Play on all fields should stop at once. Head Coaches will help direct coaches, referees, and volunteers to assigned areas, including:

 Front Gate
Restrooms
Field entrances and exits
Other designated stations

The goal is to ensure no one leaves the premises until the situation is resolved.

4. Announce “Code Adam”

Once the parent or guardian reaches the Board Tent or Concession stand, staff should announce “Code Adam”.

5. Gather a Description of the Missing Child

Upon arrival of an ASA Board Member, a complete description of the missing child should be collected, including:

 Name
Age
Gender
Clothing description
Last known location
Who the child was last seen with
Any other identifying information

At this time, ASA leadership should determine whether 911 should be called immediately.

6. Clear and Secure All Areas

All activities and games on all fields must stop immediately. Players and coaches should gather in the middle of their assigned fields.

Coaches and Team Parents should help move spectators onto the field so everyone can be accounted for.

All aisles, walkways, gates, and exits should remain clear, except for authorized personnel such as ASA Board Members and law enforcement.

7. Begin the Search

ASA Board Members, coaches, referees, and assigned volunteers will conduct an organized search of the facility and surrounding areas.

8. Hold Positions Until “All Clear”

All assigned positions should remain in place until an official “All Clear” has been announced by an ASA Board Member or law enforcement.
